(Syracuse, NY) Koenig Advertising Public Relations has adopted a pocket park on West Fayette St. next to the downtown Creekwalk, with design and plantings donated by The Evergreen Mart, 6278 Thompson Road, Syracuse.

“This very visible park adjoining the Creekwalk has looked sad since a year after its installation,” said Stew Koenig, president.  “In addition to the new hotel, the SU Warehouse, countless pedestrians and the annual Cycling the Erie Canal event, this park is seen by hundreds of thousands annually.  Since we walk by it daily on our way to work, we’ve decided to adopt it.”

Koenig enlisted the full support of the Downtown Committee as they approved the design provided by the landscape architect at the Evergreen Mart.  Koenig and his team spent a recent Sunday morning cleaning the area and installing new plants, and then topped the area with mulch the next day.

“We’re eager to see the first tulip and daffodil bulbs sprouting and opening in the spring when the snow melts,” added Koenig. “We’ll continue to maintain it and hope other organizations and individuals do the same for other areas in need around town.”
